Genre Bashing Feb 15th

(also there's $4.50 bottles of coopers till 11, aye nothing too special, but better than nothing, and good to have)
Ok i'm well excited about this one. It'll be a nice journey through some sick genres. And it'll be mad cause we're actually dedicating the night to those genres too. I must say i'm getting really tired to nights proclaiming to play all these genres and maybe pulling like 1 or 2 songs that we've all heard a million times. I'm not saying that every night is like that, and i'm not saying that those nights i've been to have been bad, i'm just saying. The one exception is that i've been calling the sorta electro ghetto bounce house music i've been posting here and playing a lot, nu-rave, and it's not exactly new rave. I did think it was though when the flyer got done. But yeh, Nu-Rave is really more rocky, and heavy than the stuff i've been playing. And hell the Klaxons are associated with it, i only thought the remixes of them were. Justice i would prolly call nurave though as well, so it's kinda still a meshed genre in my mind, and still a good one. But i'll be playing something on a more dancy switchy crookersy kinda vibe, ya dig?
Apart from that, it's as the flyer says. Deltoid's on 8-10 (8-9 will be a hip hop warm up). I'll be playing 10-12, that should be easily noticeable. D.L.I will be on 12-close (i'm assuming about 2). Yall know the low down on me and deltoid. Dunno how much i've said about D.L.I in the past, have i plugged him enuf? Anyway he's a local Melbourne Dubstep producer, and a mad one at that. Go and check his beats at his myspace. He'll drop some of his own productions, plus a fine selection of others.
Anyway i expect the night to be pretty big, the music will certainly be off chops. I figure what i'll do is post an MP3 for every genre to get your blood rushing. Now i'm not really going for originality of track selection in these posts, i'm more going for a track that represents the genre pretty well, a classic defining track, so i'm sorry if you've had to look at a link like this 100 times before, anyway, enjoy, and come along to the night if you're from Melbs.
Ghetto Tech

Baile Funk
- what i'm actually gonna do for this is post a lil sample life thing. Sample Life is just a segment of the Sine Language Radio show on syn where we find a track and then give you the sample from whence it came, nothing too special or ground breaking, but still fun none the less. So this is cut up versions and full version all into one lil miny mix of the most classic (or most recognisable to the general populous) sample to Baile Funk, usually when i use these songs to explain what the genre is, people go "ahhhh":
Kuduro
Bmore
Nu-Rave/Ghetto Electro Bounce House (i'm so only gonna use that term for the next week alright!)
Dubstep

scattermish Birthday Bash

Oh yeh! That's right it's my birthday! not today, but soon. I thought i'd actually have some sort of a party this year as i havn't had anything close to one in like 5 years (well not a bday one anyway).

So the workshop said they'd let me have it their, and i thought sweet as. Also it's a sweet date cause it's basically the start of summer, and the end of uni and school and whatever++!!

We got Loot down to play a set. He's a mad DJ and producer, i'm really feelin his beats at the moment. You can check out a mix of his as a preview actually::

Loot - Burner King (this is the demo) (tracklist here)

while we're on it, check out a new favorite beat of mine, done by Loot, and one of my favorite lyricists atm, vyle, seriously this beat is pimpin. (thanks to vyle and still listen for the download)

vyle - Lane Transfer (Prod by Loot)

In terms of other music, i'll do a lil set, maybe an hour or so (it'll prolly be early, before i get too smashed), but i imagine i will be chillin out and buggin most of the time. Then ya boi DJ Deltoid will also be playing some mad cuts.

On top of all that stuff, Buff Diss will be doing some masking tape art live throughout the night, on a special bit of plywood... pimp! for those who arn't up onit, check out a flickr slideshow of some of his previous works:

Buff Diss Art

Oh there'll also be mix-tape giveaways, with new exclusive mixes from me and Deltoid on em, and $4.50 bottles of coopers to help you get down like we all should... example::

Sine Language on the Radio

That's right, Sine Language now has a weekly radio show!
That means me and Deltoid will be hittin the radio waves as of this Wenesday the 12th. It's in the hip hop block of Syn FM so it'll be a hip hop orientated show.
We're gonna keep talking to a minimum and focus on playing music (i hate radio that has too much bullshit talking). We'll also try and stick in a live DJ mix each week as well once we get started.

Ok so it's gonna be a 2 hour show Weekly on Sunday at 10pm-12midnight (that's Melbourne GMT+10 time). Here's a list of some internation times for all yall who wanna listen (i'm being biasd to the US cause that's where most of the readers are):
US-Pacific(GMT-8): Sun 4am
US-Central(GMT-6): Sun 6am
US-EST(GMT-5): Sun 7am
London, Dublin, Lisbon(GMT): Sun 12midday
Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome(GMT+1): Sun 1pm
Perth, Beijing, Bankok, Hong Kong(GMT+8): Sun 8pm
Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane (GMT+10): Sun 10pm

Auckland (GMT+12): Sun 12midnight

Here are the stream links to listen to the show:
128k High Quality Stream (High Bandwidth).pls
128k Windows Media Player Stream (High Bandwidth).asx
32k Windows Media Player Stream (Low Bandwidth).asx

Also check out the intro we made for the show if you like, it's kinda cool:

Sine Language Intro

I'm gonna try and get the recording of each show to chuck up here as a weekly podcast type thang, but ain't got a host to use atm, so it'll probably just be as a zshare link or summin, anyone got a better hint that's free for the moment? or a good host for mua?

On top of all that there's another Sine Language gig going on @ The Workshop, Thursday styles. From what i understand we should be getting back a regular thursday fortnightly gig there, which would be a lot better than the randomness at the moment, i'll keep all who care posted on that anyway... check the flyer:

We got special guest Kross (yeh it's spelt wrong on da flyer, but it's spelt wrong in his myspace name too), he's was also on Syn FM, but in the last block. He'll be spinnin all kindsa mad Dancehall, Reggae and Hip-Hop. It's starts early at 8ish, prolly with me spinnin a couple o tunes, relaxed style and early, then should go thru till 1-2. Come check it out it'll be mad fun as always.

Oh also i'm doing a more Electro with some bmore in it set on saturday night. First i'll be at the GPO in Burke street (top floor down the back) for the designers market and FREE BEER, also some Buff Diss masking tape art. Then i'll be at the Stella Bar in the city (98 Bourke st) for the Bughauz night.
Here's a flyer for the next 3 Bughauz' (i'm on the 14th Oct and the 11th Nov):
